Our Favorite Aix-en-Provence Restaurants

Aix-en-Provence is not just a charming Provençal town; it is a true gastronomic destination.  Restaurants, cafés, and specialty shops line every corner, offering endless choices for food and wine lovers.  The variety, which seems endless,  is a paradise for anyone who enjoys or want to discover French cuisine.

During our two-month stay in Aix, we explored this vibrant food scene.  We focused almost exclusively on French cuisine, from traditional bistros to creative fine dining.  Some restaurants we visited only once, while others drew us back for repeat visits.  By the end, we had our favorite Aix-en-Provence restaurants, each with its own unique atmosphere and unforgettable flavors.

A lively outdoor restaurant scene at night, with many people dining under umbrellas and string lights in a tree-filled plaza surrounded by tall, shuttered buildings—one of the favorite Aix-en-Provence restaurants for locals and visitors alike.

Our Favorite Restaurants in Aix-en-Provence

Finding the right place to eat in Aix can feel like an adventure of its own.  Each restaurant has its own rhythm, closing on different days of the week and often keeping limited hours.  Some even close on weekends, which surprised us.  So, it is important to check operating hours ahead of time.  Reservations are usually essential because the most popular spots fill up quickly.  Here are the restaurants that became our favorites during our stay.
